Eva Kasten - Principal
An experienced executive in advertising, marketing, media, and public relations, Eva has a keen eye for compelling communication campaigns and how to make them happen. Sure-footed in navigating the pathways of government, corporations, and non-profits, she conceived of Noral to help groups achieve their communication and media objectives through programs and campaigns that are creatively rich, economically viable, and strategically effective.

Eva’s background makes her the ideal candidate to position, promote, and align companies for success. Before launching Noral, Eva was Executive Vice President of The Advertising Council, where she guided the strategic planning, creative content, and public relations needs of the $1 billion/year worth of pro-social media efforts for 40+ non-profit and government groups.

Some of the notable PSA Campaigns that she managed included Vince and Larry Crash Test Dummies’ "You can Learn A Lot From A Dummy" and "Drinking and Driving Can Kill A Friendship" - both for the U.S. Department of Transportation; Smokey Bear’s "Only You Can Prevent a Forest Fire" for the U.S. Forest Service; "A Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Waste" for the United College Fund; and "Get High. Get Stupid. Get AIDS." for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. She takes pride in having helped launch both The Points of Light Foundation and America’s Promise-The Alliance for Youth, and having been responsible for a Telly award-winning documentary and numerous Effie campaigns.

In addition to working with the nation’s most respected minds in marketing and advertising, Eva’s has interacted with several White House Administrations and Cabinets, resulting in public service initiatives with Presidents Bush and Clinton, the First Ladies, and Cabinet Secretaries for efforts like the Healthy Start Initiative, Childhood Immunizations, and Children First, to name a few. Her political involvement resulted in the founding of Congressional Wives for Bush and extensive personal campaign activities in Wisconsin politics.

She is committed to finding better, faster, and smarter solutions for her clients. Those clients cover a range of media, non-profit, and corporate entities including Discovery Networks, Sesame Workshop, WARC Publications, Bravo Network, National Safe Kids Campaign, and National Parks Conservation Association.

Eva is a Director of The Campaign for Our Children, Inc, and resides in Washington, DC with her husband, Preston Brown, and her daughter, Nora.

Peter Howley - Vice President, Business Analysis and Research
With a decade of consulting and management experience, Peter Howley has delivered insights and results to business and consumer marketers, including publishers, heavy manufacturers, and consumer packaged goods companies. A specialist in applying empirical evidence to answer questions about strategy, tactics, and channels, Peter brings to Noral capabilities in market research, strategic alliances, and new product development.

Peter’s background has armed him with best practices from both market leaders and start-ups. There, he helped develop the unit’s first-ever trade marketing campaign, identified the advertiser and consumer features for the next generation of WashingtonJobs.com, and launched a suite of mobile content products for consumers.

As a consultant, Peter increased subscriptions by a third for a specialty publisher by streamlining the signup process and running a targeted search engine marketing campaign. He also created an alliance strategy for a business intelligence software company. At Bain & Company, he developed a new product and market test for a leading snack company’s convenience store channel; he also rationalized a tool manufacturer’s product line by allocating overhead costs to measure profitability.

A former journalist and editor, Peter maintains an interest in writing and filmmaking. He lives in Washington D.C. but travels to outdoor destinations at any opportunity.
